Basket Weaving Workshop at The Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History
Date: Sunday, March 8th
Time: 10:00am-4:00pm
Come join us for a basket weaving workshop at The Henry Sheldon Museum of Vermont History- the oldest community-based Museum in the country, located in the heart of downtown Middlebury. In this full day basket weaving intensive, everyone will make and leave with their own Harvest Basket- perfect for gathering leafy greens in the garden, foraging in the woods, berry picking all summer, or filling up at the Farmer's Market. This basket finishes with a beautiful leather cross-body strap from Champlain Leather in Burlington, VT. In this workshop you will learn basic basketry techniques, and spend the day practicing this ancient, meditative, and utilitarian craft.
No experience necessary. All materials provided. Please reach out to Alexa for exceptions for weavers under 18 years old.
Please bring your own lunch, or plan to eat in town.
